A PAGE IN FASHIONS HISTORY WAS WRITTEN. IRFE, ONE OF THE VERY FIRST RUSSIAN COUTURE HOUSES WAS RE-INTRODUCED TO WORLD BY MODEL TURNED DESIGNER: OLGA SOROKINA. AND WE WELCOME IRFE AUTUMN WINTER COLLECTION TO SOPHIE'S CHOICE.

More than 80 years later, Olga Sorokina, moved and passionate about this romantic fashion story, decided to re-launch the Irfé Couture House, and to relocate it to 4 rue du Faubourg Saint- Honoré. Founded in 1924 by Princess Irina and Prince Felix Yousoupoff (the name Irfé is the first two letters of their first names) in Paris, the couture house existed only for 5 years but during its brief life, it was a major trend setter of its era as its refined cocktail dresses, its elegant and modern daywear, as well as the very first sportswear outfits offered an international scope. It also pioneered the perfumes based on skin types, launching blond, brunette and chestnut brown to unprecedented success. The Irfé creations, designed by a royal hand, of extreme sophistication and whose promotion was ensured gracefully by Princess Irina, were the favorite silhouettes of European and American aristocrats. However, the economic crisis of 1929 obliged the Prince and the Princess to close the doors of their Franco-Russian project soon after.

"Paris is definitely still the capital of fashion, but in a few years Russian designers will break out in the international market," predicted Sorokina, who was dressed in a close-fitting cream silk trouser suit of her own design."

The ideal client of Irfe is an independant woman with taste and a keen sense of fashion and style. She understands silhouettes, materials and styles and that is the reason why Sophie's choice collaborates with unique brands such as Irfe and we have the pleasure to have you in our store.
